Spring Service Project!
Hello Fellow Rotarians!
Important news relating to the spring service project. This year Rotarians will be able to pick one of the five week options to be 'interviewed' by a class of middle school students in Duggan Academy, located on 1015 Wilbraham Rd, in Springfield. These interviews will be part of a project to develop their interest in a career. Currently a plan is being constructed to have these students present their projects during our luncheon in June. Dates and times to sign up and be interviewed will be posted shortly.
HOWEVER ALL ROTARIANS MUST SUBMIT A CRIMINAL OFFENDER RECORD INFORMATION, (CORI) TO THE SPRINGFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
Please see LINK attached to fill out the application. ALSO a copy of your ID will be needed. You can submit them tomorrow or I can pick them up at your office. I will have copies in the Friday meetings as well. Link: http://www.springfieldschoolvolunteers.org/images/uploads/CORI_form_(2_pages).pdf
Program Description: A classroom of 15 students will have the opportunity once a week to research higher education, hobbies, and interest that would contribute to future career decisions. The two hour session will be split between independent research and group activities, and guest speakers from the Springfield Rotary. The students will conduct an ‘interview’ based question and answer to the guest speakers. The interview process will also include the students taking photos of presenters and documenting in their display posters at the end of the five week term. Concluding each meeting, the students will recite the FOUR-WAY TEST as a guide for their personal and professional aims.
Thank you
