Rotary District 7890

A message from Marc Glass, District Governor 20/21

As the holidays are upon us, I would like to wish you, your family and friends a safe, healthy and happy holidays.

There is great news that a vaccine is close by and hopefully we can be face to face ASAP.

Have patience and we are in this together and we as Rotarians can handle anything that comes our way.

Three District Governors (Myself, Ron Webb, and Tony Marmo) and their team have been meeting with Toastmasters on the Rotary International collaboration. This is a positive step forward in meeting new friends who can potentially be members in your club.

You might have heard that there is another wave of Covid masks that will be available to clubs, for them to distribute in their areas. It won’t be the same where we had two locations to pick them up. It will probably be in my office and at that time I can also give clubs their theme pins in which I have had since late March.

Each club will have the opportunity to publicize the event on their own and hopefully promote the reason to join Rotary. If you are interested, please contact DGE Joanne Alfieri. More to follow on this.

I am happy to announce that all paperwork has been sent and approved by RI, Christine Burns will be your District Governor for the years 23/24. I and the rest of the team are looking forward to working with her. She will have a great ride.

With the unexpected resignation of Chairwoman Lucy Hurston, we are looking for a chair for the District DEI committee. Please contact me or any of the District team with questions or inquires.

During DGE Joanne Alfieris’ year the district is in need for a few great people to be Assistant Governors for area 8 and 5 and maybe 2 and 3.

Area 8 is currently Randy Chapell who will be the DGE.

Area 5 is currently Bill Hall and Area 2 and 3 are Christine Burns who will be the DGN.

Please consider helping your District and volunteering for this position.

Dates to Remember:

January 15 & 16 or January 22 & 23: Pre-Pets for AGs and President-elects. You choose either dates. Please contact DGE Joanne for info.

March 11,12,13,18,19,20: NEPETS for incoming and Presidents that are staying for another year. All are required to attend as well as the AGs.

Details will follow.

Again, I am always available if anyone has any questions or concerns.

Thank you for all you do in the name of Rotary.
