Zelmon Johnson
Olive Tree Books-n-Voices Bookstore

Zelmon Johnson, (aka Zee Johnson) is a native Southerner--born and raised in Richmond,
Virginia. Zee attended Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD., where she obtained both
Bachelor and Master of Business Education degrees. In 2020, she completed a Master of Social
Work degree from Westfield State University, after many, many, many years of working in the
field of human resources.

Zee has two very different lives: Her love of social work in the field of Geriatrics, where she is a
licensed social worker who works with PLWD (persons living with dementia), and her
ownership of Olive Tree Books-n-Voices bookstore, a local community bookstore in the
Springfield area.

Zee is very active in the Springfield community. She is the chairperson of the Springfield
Dementia Friendly Coalition, a board director of Multicultural Community Services, Inc., a
board director of H.M. Hutchings Family Life Center, and a member of the National Black
Social Workers of Metro West.

She is the recipient of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Services, 2020 Social Justice Award
for Entrepreneurship and the Springfield Museums 2010 UBORA Award.
