President's Message
Sue Mastroianni
March 8, 2019

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

All I can say is WOW about last Friday’s meeting! It was a flurry of activity as it was the final day to turn in raffle tickets. Everyone pitched in to help fill out last minute tickets, staple them for the tumbler, prepare the prizes, track the winners...... It was definitely a group effort. And now for the results.........

DRUMROLL PLEASE.......

The club sold 539 Raffle tickets!!!! Our club will raise over $5,300 for The Service Fund!!!!  I am so proud of everyone who helped support the raffle and helped to sell and/or buy tickets. In addition to our 3 Teams, Emma from WMAS sold 9 tickets and a few of our Honorary members purchased tickets. Maurice Powe sold the most tickets (39) and thanks to Maurice, Team Sue was the winning Team with 199 tickets sold. Team John sold 167 and Team Bert 148!  However, the true winner is our Service Fund and the area non-profits that will benefit from the grants this Spring! Thank you to everyone who helped make this fundraiser a success.

This Friday we will pick the next seven raffle prizewinners; highlight several members with a “Member Spotlight” and hear from the Chalk It Up crew!

No one can say we’re resting on our laurels! LOL  Hope to see you at the Hall.

Have a great day!

President Sue Mastroianni

TODAY IS...
March 8th is International Women's Day! International Women's Day commemorates the movement for women's rights and celebrates the political, cultural, social, and economic achievements of women. It is also a day to continue fighting for gender equality: for equal pay and work opportunities for women, and for equality in access to education and healthcare worldwide. It is also a day to work to eradicate violence against women. It is celebrated around the world and supported by various groups. Small and large gatherings and conferences take place. It is a day of celebration, but also a day of taking new initiatives and action.

WE NEED YOUR HELP
Dene Kimball could use a little help with displaying our Rotary flags at meetings. Dene is planning some extended vacation time soon and would like a few Rotarians to volunteer and put up the flags while he’s away (or give him a break now and then). The flags are stored at Max’s and only take a few minutes to put up or take down. Please talk to Dene about helping out. And thank you for your participation in helping to display our flags!
