President's Message

Bert Carter

This week is World Polio Day.  Polio eradication is central to Rotary’s mission.  Here are some things to think about related to our efforts to eradicate polio:

  • Where are we in the fight to end polio? What bold steps are we taking to get there? Visit the Rotary International Facebook page to RSVP to the Online Global Update scheduled for October 24th.

  •  No child should have to suffer from this vaccine-preventable disease. Help us make an impact on World Polio Day.

  •  Smallpox is the only human disease ever eradicated. Let’s make polio the second. Join the fight on World Polio Day.

  •  How can you triple your impact? Thanks to a 2-to-1 match from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, every donation made to Rotary to end polio will be tripled. Donate today: endpolio.org/don

Don’t forget the Service Above Self Luncheon is coming upon us quickly.  This is the biggest event on our calendar and a major friend/fund raiser for the club.  The funds we realize from this event go toward our local grants that we award annually at our Paul Harris dinner.  Last year we were able to award $10,000!

Please make plans to attend on November 22.  It should be a great time. Tickets will be available on ClubRunner this week.  There are also sponsor and program ad opportunities. Check on ClubRunner or see John Perez if you would like to purchase an ad, table or sponsorship.  There are prices to fit every budget.

In Service,

Bert

BULLETIN SPONSOR

Our school was founded in 1967 by parents who sought to establish an innovative program for their child. Their focus was on academic excellence and educational achievement. They also wished to have a program that would demonstrate the benefits of deaf and hard-of-hearing children learning alongside hearing children.
