Greetings Fellow Rotarians!

I hope everyone is enjoying their week!  On this past Friday, we had the opportunity to hear from Anthony Cignoli regarding the political climate on the local, state, and federal level! What a wealth of information, and great overall experience!

As you are aware, we have a great lineup of speakers for February this week will be having Sarah Tsitso, Senior Director of Organizational Development and Nick Kinsman, Membership and Annual Giving Manager at The Zoo in Forest Park will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon meeting this Friday, February 9th. Sarah and Nick will be bringing a few furry (or feathery) animals with them and let us know “What’s New at the Forest Park Zoo.” You don’t want to miss this fun filled topic and find out what’s going on at one of Springfield’s premier attractions.  Looking forward to seeing you there!

Rotary Leadership Institute is a powerful tool to grow our members leadership strengths and build member retention! District Governor, David Mangs, encourages every Rotary Club to send members when you can. We will keep you posted.  Congratulations to Dee Rodgers-Tonge, John Perez, and Jack Toner for completing their courses. It shows true commitment!

ROWLAND'S MAGAZINE QUIZE

"Massino Cassanelli was hiking with friends in the hills of Abruzzo, Italy when they saw Lake Scanno's distinctive shape.  It
reminded him of how Rotary is un club dal cuore grande.  What is the shape of Lake Scanno?"   Stephen Jablonski came up
with the right answer.  Architects always like to look at beautiful pictures:)

Rotary International Convention
Save the Date!  The 2019 Rotary International Convention will take place June 1-5, 2019, in Hamburg, Germany. This is sure to be an excellent opportunity to enjoy fellowship and learn more about Rotary.

Our incoming District Governor, Kate Sims, will be attending a planning convention in San Diego very shortly.  Kate wishes to obtain a rough count of those who are interested in attending the 2019 Rotary International Convention to discuss with other Governors.

If you are potentially interested, please reply to jennifergruszka45@gmail.com. Spouses are certainly welcome. Costs are not determined at this time, but Rotarians are responsible for flights, accommodations and Convention fees.

Historically, 20-80 members of District 7890 have attended the International Conventions. You can learn more about past and future Conventions here.
