Dear Fellow Rotarians, this week is NAVY WEEK in Springfield and we are excited to have 2 representatives from the US Navy join us on Friday. LT John Stevens | Navy Week Program Manager, Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO) and Captain Robert M Gaucher, Chief Of Staff, Submarine Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, will be our speakers.

Navy weeks are hosted across the U.S. and designed to give people the opportunity to learn about the Navy, its people, and its importance. Captain Gaucher’s topic will be “The Navy the Nation Needs”, along with a focus on submarines. Sounds like a meeting you won’t want to miss!

Last Friday we also had a great speaker thanks to Seth. Katrina Spicer-Lindquist of H & R Block gave us some tax tips and information regarding the new tax code.

Alan Popp wants to thank everyone for donating books for the Mason Wright bookshelves. They are still in need of children’s books and books written by minority authors. The collection is ongoing.

The Gray House also wants to thank everyone who has contributed to their 4th Annual “Fill the Plate, Feed a Family” challenge. Thank you to everyone who has already participated. The “challenge” will culminate with an International Tasting held at the Munich Haus in Chicopee on Wed, 9/26.

I look forward to seeing you at the Hall!

Yours Truly,

President Sue Mastroianni
