THIS FRIDAY
This Friday YWCA Executive Director Elizabeth Dineen to speak at Springfield Rotary March 23rd. Elizabeth Dineen J.D. Executive Director of the Springfield YWCA since 2016 will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon meeting this Friday, March 23, 2018. Dineen will talk to us about the history and services offered to women and children at the YWCA in our community. The Springfield YWCA is the 10th largest YWCA in the United States.

For nearly 150 years, the YWCA has served our region, guided by its founding principle: to provide shelter, support services, and tools for self-sufficiency for women and girls in our community.

Today, the YWCA provides safe places for women and children in crisis. It offers women counseling, job training, child-care, and health and fitness. The YWCA also offers job training to people ages 16-21 who are out of school. Attorney Dineen is a graduate of Western New England College School of Law.

Throughout her 27-year as a prosecutor, Dineen was known as a strong advocate for women and children, focusing primarily on sexual assaults and crime against children.  After leaving the district attorney's office, she served as chairwoman of the Department of Criminal Justice at Bay Path University in Longmeadow.
