It has been a fantastic year for the Rotary Club of Springfield. We have accomplished so much, and it is time to recognize all the great work that took place in 2022.
In the year 2022, the Rotary Club of Springfield:
Gave $7,000 in grants to 5 local non-profits for capital projects.
Donated shoes, toiletries, coats, water, etc., to the Friends of the Homeless in collaboration with YPS.
Raised $500 donated to Christina's House for Thanksgiving Dinner
Raised nearly $5,000 to purchase water filters for the Cambodia Clean Water Project.
Volunteered in 3 "build days" for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Springfield.
Donated holiday gifts to the Gray House.
Volunteered to serve meals at Friends of the Homeless.
All of the impact our Club has in the community is a direct result of your commitment to "Service Above Self" and participation in the club's fundraisers, community service activities, and events.
There are many ways for Rotarians to stay involved:
Join in a sub-committee that meets via Zoom to plan events or fundraisers
Attend a morning "Coffee & Networking" events
Show up for a Habitat build day
Show up at the Friends of the Homeless to serve dinner on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month
Donate to a fundraiser and/or get others to donate.
Volunteer to be in the Board of Directors
I encourage all Rotarians to reflect on what you want to get out of Rotary in 2023, and please share it with Board members -- email or call me if there is anything I can do to help you. Your feedback and participation in Club activities are essential for our Club to continue to do great work.
I wish you all a Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and/or Happy Hanukkah! And many blessings for 2023.
