GRAY HOUSE SPAGHETTI SUPPER The Gray House will hold its 27th annual Spaghetti Supper on Monday, March 19th at the Greek Cultural Center, 8 Plainfield Street in Springfield from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. All proceeds from the family-friendly event help The Gray House provide food, educational services and youth programming to neighbors living in poverty. This year’s Event Sponsor is Freedom Credit Union. Our Platinum sponsors include PeoplesBank and the Springfield Chapter of UNICO National. Tickets for the event are a minimum donation of $5. Children six and under are free and all tickets can be purchased at the door. Supper, dessert, (cash bar) and children’s activities are available as well as the opportunity to win raffle prizes such as Okemo Mountain lift tickets, Tree House Brewing Company basket, among many others. The Grand Prize raffle includes a foursome to The Ranch Golf Club, tickets to a Boston Red Sox Game and a 32” Smart TV. Winners do not need to be present to win the grand prize raffle tickets. This year, The Gray House will honor St. Michael’s Parish and Knights of Columbus Council # 9960 of East Longmeadow. Wine Tasting & Bus Trip to Foxwoods Come enjoy a fun filled evening with the Kensington- Berlin Rotary Club on March, 24, 4:00-6:00! The evening will start at 4pm at Turnpike Liquors, 1943 Berlin Turnpike, Berlin for Wine Tasting. At 5pm we will board the bus for a short ride to Foxwoods where you will be able to enjoy some gambling, dining and shopping at fantastic outlets. Cost is $30 which includes the Wine Tasting, $10 Food Voucher and $10 Casino Voucher. Proceeds to benefit Rotary Scholarships, Amber Alert Program & Soup Kitchen.. Additional Rotary discounts available on hats ($3) and Food vouchers (1 hotdog & soda $2). Great bargains for a family night out. Seth Tenenbaum was inducted into The Rotary Club of Springfield on Friday, March 2, 2018. Seth was sponsored by Rotarian Michael (Mike) F. Tarby, President of PIP Marketing, Signs, Print of East Longmeadow.
Tenenbaum is a cost optimization specialist/owner of Schooley Mitchell located in Longmeadow, MA. Schooley Mitchell helps organizations save time and money on telecommunications (phones, internet and cell phones), merchant services (credit processing) and small package shipping.
Tenenbaum is an ambassador with The Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer with the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts. He resides in Longmeadow and enjoys hiking biking and cross country skiing.
MARTIN LUTHER KING SERVICE Martin Luther King Family Services is hosting its second annual Social Justice Awards event on April 4. Tickets are $60 a piece. Martin Luther King Family Services has been a part of the community since 1977. ( http://www.mlkjrfamilyservices.org/) Their mission is to fulfill the legacy of Dr. King. The funds raised will be used to support their food bank program that now supports 500 people per week to ensure that they have access to healthy food and their after school program where they promote literacy, citizenship and social justice. The 2019 Rotary International Convention will take place June 1-5, 2019, in Hamburg, Germany. This is sure to be an excellent opportunity to enjoy fellowship and learn more about Rotary. Our incoming District Governor, Kate Sims, will be attending a planning convention in San Diego very shortly. Kate wishes to obtain a rough count of those who are interested in attending the 2019 Rotary International Convention to discuss with other Governors. If you are potentially interested, please reply to jennifergruszka45@gmail.com. Spouses are certainly welcome. Costs are not determined at this time, but Rotarians are responsible for flights, accommodations and Convention fees. Historically, 20-80 members of District 7890 have attended the International Conventions.
