This year's presidential theme for Rotary is “Imagine Rotary” - the Rotary International President has asked all Rotary members to dream big and take action: she said: “We all have dreams, but acting on them is a choice. Imagine a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference.” The logo for the theme has great meaning. The circle in aboriginal culture, for instance, signifies our connections to one another. The dots around it represent people and there are seven because of Rotary's areas of focus.
Promoting peace. Rotary encourages conversations to foster understanding within and across cultures
Fighting disease
Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
Saving mothers and children
Supporting education
Growing local economies
Protecting the environment
I invite you all, Rotarians, community members, family, and friends, to join us and take action.
There are many ways to get involved but here are five specific ways you can be active with Rotary this year:
You can attend our lunch meetings - these are currently held twice per month
You can volunteer to work on a service project
You can step up and volunteer for a leadership position
You can volunteer to participate in a committee
You can attend a rotary social event
I encourage you to pick and commit to at least two ways you can be active with Rotary this year and I thank you in advance for your support!
