President's Message
Sue Mastroianni

June 21, 2019

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

There is NO MEETING this Friday, June 21st due to our Paul Harris event this past Tuesday. Please plan on attending next Friday, June 28th when we induct Bert Carter as our new Rotary Club President.

I hope all our dads, grand dads, surrogate dads and pet dads had a wonderful Father’s Day last Sunday! The work they do, day in and day out sometimes goes unnoticed and unappreciated so thank you to all the “dads” out there.

We had a great meeting last Friday with Hypnotherapist, Dr. Thomas D. Pirnie D.C.H. It was a very interesting meeting where we all learned a little bit more about hypnosis and it’s many uses - from helping veterans to the sports world.

I am writing this before our Paul Harris/Community Grants Awards Dinner; however, I know it was a wonderful event which I hope many of you were able to attend. Our club awarded a Paul Harris Award to Rotarian Mike Tarby and his partner Bob Pelzek at PIP Printing for their contribution to our club throughout the years.  Congratulations Mike and Bob! We also awarded $10,000 in grants to eight area non-profits that evening. Thank you to Marie Angelides, Alicia Garcia, Rick Lee and Jack Toner for all their hard work on making this event a success.

I hope to see you on the 28th for the “Changing of the Guard” when we induct Bert as our new Club President and the 2019-2020 Board of Directors!

President Sue Mastroianni

LAST WEEK'S SPEAKER

We had a great meeting last Friday with Hypnotherapist, Dr. Thomas D. Pirnie D.C.H. It was a very interesting meeting where we all learned a little bit more about hypnosis.  Hypnosis is an expanding field being used to help people in many areas. Including, but not limited to stop smoking, weight loss, anxiety and sleep issues. It has also been used to help veterans dealing with PTSD, children with ADHD and many athletes in the sports world.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

Dene Kimball could use a little help with displaying our Rotary flags at meetings (as Richard Fulkerson is doing in the attached photo). Dene is planning some extended vacation time soon and would like a few Rotarians to volunteer and put up the flags while he’s away (or give him a break now and then). The flags are stored at Max’s and only take a few minutes to put up or take down. Please talk to Dene about helping out. And thank you for your participation in helping to display our flags!
