President's Message

Bert Carter

As we celebrate Mother’s Day this next Sunday, I will like to congratulate all our members of the Rotary Club of Springfield MA that had the strength, courage and audacity to be called Mothers.

It’s hard to define what a mother is, or what she would do for her offspring.  A mother would happily exchange her own safety and even her life for her child’s safety on a blink of an eye. We heard stories of mothers crossing rising rivers, the one of a mother that raised a parked car, and many other uncountable stories of sacrifices to save a child from harm.

A mother’s hand could be a smoothing analgesic to an ailing child, as it could be firm when correction need to be delivered.

We are grateful for our mothers; Our confidants, our first and greatest love, our solace in sorrow, our tutors, our guides, and our safe harbors.  Happy Mother’s Day to All our Mothers.

Be Well,

John D. Perez, Sr.

Vice-president and President Elect

Many of the things you do to help prevent colds and the flu can help protect you against other respiratory viruses, including COVID-19:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Clean things that are frequently touched (like doorknobs and countertops) with household cleaning spray or wipes.
  • Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze. Use a tissue or your inner elbow, not your hands.

DPH Public Health Advisory: Stay-at-Home Advisory
