President's Message
Sue Mastroianni
February 22, 2019

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

I hope you’ve all had a good week and are enjoying a nice weekend.

The March Calendar Raffle is winding down and it’s time to turn in your raffles and money to your Team Captain (Sue, Bert or John). We printed 600 and I’m happy to say they have all been distributed.  If you want more raffles, please contact your Team Captain or other team members who may still have a few unsold. We have 1 more week before the Raffle ends and I’m hopeful we will reach our goal of $5,000 if not go over!

We had a great meeting Friday, Feb. 15 with Maxine Stein and Sara Bedford from Jewish Family Services (JFS). Maxine and Sara gave us an overview of their “New American Program” with refugee resettlement in our area.

Friday, Feb 22, our speakers were Ezra Parzybok and Mark Jarvis. Ezra is a medical cannabis educator, patient advisor, and cannabis business consultant in the area. He and Mark are partners in Greenglove Consulting, which specializes in assisting prospective cannabis businesses by provide regulatory and operational business advice to cannabis startups.

Invite a guest to join you every Friday and experience Rotary first hand.

Have a great day!

President Sue Mastroianni

PAST SPEAKERS
On Friday, Feb 15 we welcomed Maxine Stein and Sara Bedford from Jewish Family Services (JFS)  who gave us an overview of their “New American Program” with refugee resettlement in our area.  It is a huge undertaking, involving many people to help families adjust to their new home. We learned that fellow Rotarian Ellen Freyman and her family adopted a refugee family years ago. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Ellen or Sara Bedford at s.bedford@jfswm.org

Our Speaker on Friday, Feb 22 were Ezra Parzybok and Mark Jarvis. Ezra is a medical cannabis educator, patient advisor, and cannabis business consultant in the area. He and Mark are partners in Greenglove Consulting, which specializes in assisting prospective cannabis businesses by provide regulatory and operational business advice to cannabis startups.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
Dene Kimball could use a little help with displaying our Rotary flags at meetings. Dene is planning some extended vacation time soon and would like a few Rotarians to volunteer and put up the flags while he’s away (or give him a break now and then). The flags are stored at Max’s and only take a few minutes to put up or take down. Please talk to Dene about helping out. And thank you for your participation in helping to display our flags!
FRIENDS OF THE HOMELESS
We are serving dinner at Friends of the Homeless on Thursday March 7, 2019. Anyone interested in helping to serve dinner that day should email President Sue at samastro@comcast.net.  Your help and service is greatly appreciated.
