President's Message

Bert Carter

This past Friday we had the pleasure of a visit from our District Governor, Mark Brady.  Mark shared his vision for the district this year.  It was an inspiring presentation about the importance of service and creative ways to serve our communities as well as Rotary International’s goals.  Mark also talked about ways to improve our club experience and increase our membership.  It was an inspiring talk, thank you Mark.  And thank you to those who attended, we had a great showing for Mark.

In addition to Mark’s presentation, we had updates from our committees on the projects we have in process.  Some hi-lights include:
  • We are now officially incorporated as a club.  This will be helpful in our fundraising effort for the Cambodia Project.  We continue to work toward getting 501c3 status in this effort.
  • Mary Anne will be leaving soon for Cambodia to deliver 225 filtration units and 50 replacement inserts.  She will also be bringing the tooth brushes and tooth paste we collected over the past few weeks.  Thank you to those who contributed.
  • Membership efforts continue with several people in the pipeline.
  • Service Above Self Luncheon will be November 22.  Information on tickets, sponsorships and program ads will be coming soon.  Please plan to attend as this is the 10th Annual and we want a good showing.
  • We are working on streaming our Friday meetings on Facebook or a similar platform.  This would be a way for members to participate and keep up with club happenings when they are not able to attend.  More to come.
  • Chalk It Up preparations continue.  Brochures for sponsor recruitment will be ready soon.  Stay tuned.
It is a busy time in the club.  If you are looking for an opportunity to serve, please let me know.  I am sure we can find a match for you.

I hope to see you at a meeting soon.

In Service,

Bert
