Last Friday we had a great meeting with Pete Miller, Co-Founder of MillBrook Benefits, an employee benefits consulting firm in Springfield. Pete “tried” to help us understand the many different Health Care options that are available to small businesses today.

Last Week's Speaker was Pete Miller, Co-Founder of MillBrook Benefits, an employee benefits consulting firm in Springfield. His topic included “The Health Care Solutions Spectrum: Creative Ways to Control Health Care Costs.” Pete lives in E. Longmeadow and in his spare time is an outdoor enthusiast who mountain bikes, skis, hikes and does outdoor photography. He is also a Catcher in the Quabbin Valley Over 30 Baseball League…”as long my knees hold out’, he says!
Join us as we welcome District Governor Kate Sims as our speaker this Friday. Kate will talk about the succession of our district and the district’s newly formed opioid task force. Kate has been a Rotarian of the Manchester Rotary Club in Manchester CT for 9 years and was President of the club in FY 13 /14. On the District Level she is the past Chair of Rotaract, past AG for Area 5 and DG for District 7890 year 2108/2019.

Our club will be serving dinner at Friends of The Homeless this Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 4:15-5:30 P.M. They are located at 755 Worthington Street in Springfield, MA. Those who have participated know what a rewarding experience it is. Hope to see you there.
We have had a great start to our 2018 Foundation Drive! Thank you to Al Gay, Mike Cooley, Steve Jablonski, Sue Mastroianni, Seth Tenenbaum, Dene Kimball and Peter Pappas for their gifts. The Rotary Foundation recently released their Annual Report. Currently, 92% of the funds received are used to make a difference in the lives of others. We were reminded by the passing of President George HW Bush, the importance of our global citizenship, not just our American citizenship. As we put on the Rotary Foundations oars, we embodying this value.
Colony Care at Home is organizing a “Stockings for Seniors” event to be held this December. Our club has agreed to purchase items to fill those Christmas stockings. Donations will be collected at ourNov 30th and Dec 7th meetings and distributed to the residents of Mason Wright Senior Living facility. Mason Wright provides housing and services to low income elders.
