We had a wonderful meeting last Friday with Kay Simpson, President of The Springfield Museums. We learned a lot about the Seuss Museum and how it came to be along with a lot of information on Ted Geisel and his family. It’s amazing the impact 1 person can have on the world!
Speaking of having an impact – we are wrapping up our drive for the Rotary Foundation in the next few weeks. Jack Toner is looking for 100% participation in RI Foundation giving this year! Give what you can - $5, $25, $50 or more. You can make your donation online or give Richard a check on Friday. Donations can also be mailed to our PO Box. Every donation is important!
This Friday we will be having a Club Assembly. Come and hear more about our March Calendar fundraiser; the Cambodian Water Project; Chalk It Up and more.
Looking forward to seeing you!
President Sue Mastroianni

Last week’s speaker was Kay Simpson, President of the Springfield Museums. We learned interesting information on how the Seuss Museum came to be. Simpson has more than thirty years of museum experience, working in school and public programs development, educational exhibition design, teaching, collaborative community projects management, museum administration, fundraising, grant writing, and strategic planning.
We need your help! 31 prizes valued at $25-$100 (or more) are needed to fill up the days in March. Calendars will be sold for $10 each. If all prizes are donated we could raise $5,000 for the Service Fund!!!!!! Please donate a raffle prize from yourself, your business or ask one of the local businesses you frequent to donate a prize. So far we have prizes donated from John Perez (2, $50 gift cards to the Delaney House), Sue Mastroianni (1, $100 Frigo’s gift card), Rick Lee (a prize from the Irish Cultural Center) and WMAS FM is donating prizes. The sooner we get all 31 prizes, the sooner we can get the calendars printed and sold. Thank you!
The Rotary Foundation recently released their Annual Report. Currently, 92% of the funds received are used to make a difference in the lives of others. Let us continue to make a difference.
