Peter Wirth, owner of Mercedes-Benz in Springfield to speak at Springfield Rotary May 11th.
 
 
Peter Wirth, owner of Mercedes-Benz in Springfield will address the Springfield 
Rotary Club's luncheon meeting this Friday, May 11th. Peter will talk about his path from working in Germany for Daimler to opening a dealership in Western Mass as well as their philosophy on community involvement and customer service. 
 
Mercedes-Benz of Springfield opened the doors of its brand new facility in October 2017 at the end of 291, exit 6 on the Mass Pike on the land formerly occupied by the Plantation Inn. 
 
Before opening the Springfield dealership, Peter was General Manager of Mercedes-Benz of Nanuet based in Rockland County New York. Peter spent 8 years in retail working as salesperson, sales manager and then General Sales Manager of Mercedes-Benz of White Plains prior to joining the team in Nanuet. 
 
Always having a passion for Mercedes-Benz, Peter was born and raised an hour from Stuttgart, Germany, the birthplace of the automobile and the global headquarters of Daimler AG. He has a Masters Degree in International Business, Marketing and Finance from the University of Mannheim. He started his career in the Product Management department at Daimler HQ and held positions in Communications and Marketing before moving to the US and beginning his career in automotive retail. 
 
Peter is married with four children and currently resides in Springfield, MA.

Chalk It Up! Chalk Art Festival

 
It was a beautiful sunny day for the 1st ever "Chalk It Up" event this past Saturday!
A HUGE thank you to the committee for all their hard work and to the many Rotarians who volunteered during the day.

Rotary International Convention
Save the Date!  The 2019 Rotary International Convention will take place June 1-5, 2019, in Hamburg, Germany. This is sure to be an excellent opportunity to enjoy fellowship and learn more about Rotary.
 
Our incoming District Governor, Kate Sims, will be attending a planning convention in San Diego very shortly.  Kate wishes to obtain a rough count of those who are interested in attending the 2019 Rotary International Convention to discuss with other Governors.
 
If you are potentially interested, please reply to jennifergruszka45@gmail.com. Spouses are certainly welcome. Costs are not determined at this time, but Rotarians are responsible for flights, accommodations and Convention fees.
 
Historically, 20-80 members of District 7890 have attended the International Conventions. You can learn more about past and future Conventions here.
