Last Friday’s meeting was filled with a flurry of activity. With only 1 week left to sell the calendar raffles, some members were still looking for more to sell! Others were returning theirs. We printed 600 and all of them have been distributed! I am so proud of all our members who bought or sold raffles. This Friday, we begin picking the prizewinners, so if you have any raffles left (sold or unsold), please bring them to this Friday’s meeting or give them to a fellow Rotarian.
We’ll also announce the winning team for the raffle. Our club was divided into three teams for some friendly competition - Teams Sue, Bert or John. The winning team will receive a FREE raffle each, some fun prizes and bragging rights!
In addition to all the raffle frenzy, our speakers Ezra Parzybok and Mark Jarvis gave us an insiders view to the business side of the cannabis business. Ezra and Mark are partners in Greenglove Consulting, which specializes in assisting prospective cannabis businesses by provide regulatory and operational business advice to cannabis startups. It was an interesting and fascinating topic.
Hope to see you this Friday as we tally up our Raffle money and pick the first seven prizewinners!

Winning team wins bragging rights (priceless), a FREE raffle ticket for each team member* and some fun prizes. *Each winning team member must have sold or bought 1 raffle ticket to qualify for a FREE raffle ticket. The Dominican Cultural and Sports Center celebrated the 19th Celebration of the Independence and the raising of the Dominican flag at Springfield City Hall. Our very own John D. Pérez was the organizer and MC of the event.
Dene Kimball could use a little help with displaying our Rotary flags at meetings. Dene is planning some extended vacation time soon and would like a few Rotarians to volunteer and put up the flags while he’s away (or give him a break now and then). The flags are stored at Max’s and only take a few minutes to put up or take down. Please talk to Dene about helping out. And thank you for your participation in helping to display our flags!
