President of Springfield Technical Community College

Dr. John B. Cook has served as the sixth president of Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) since 2016. As CEO, he manages a $70 million budget, oversees a one-million-square-foot campus, and leads 700 employees to support 7,500 students in degree, certificate, and workforce programs. Under his leadership, STCC has introduced new academic pathways, including health sciences, nursing, and manufacturing programs, and has invested in quantum technology and Early College initiatives.

Dr. Cook has overseen over $100 million in infrastructure improvements and played a key role in STCC’s strategic plan (Momentum: 2023-2028), contributing to enrollment growth through initiatives like MassReconnect. His prior experience includes roles at Manchester Community College and Granite State College, with a background in psychology and education. He is actively involved in various community and workforce development boards and resides in Springfield with his wife, Vanessa Otero.
